Sound Generations Senior Driving Companion Program

The Driving Companion Program (DCP) is focused on providing transportation to older adults living in Seattle. Clients must live in Seattle, but can travel throughout King County if the volunteer driver is willing. A client recruits volunteers in their community to help them travel to events, appointments, shopping and more. The clients and volunteers are responsible for scheduling; this allows more flexibility for times and trip types.

Clients Apply If:

They are 50 years or older They have limited transportation options
Are able to self-transfer in and out of a vehicle

Drivers Can Apply If:

They are 25 years old They have a Washington State license
Willing to drive their own car Have a clean driving record the past 2 years

Drivers receive mileage reimbursement, supplementary insurance, and community service hours.
